Forklift Refresher Training Brisbane

Refresh your forklift safety knowledge with Work Safe Training. Choose a full Verification of Competency (VOC) with online theory and in-person practical training, or complete our online-only refresher course.

Full VOC: $150. Online refresher: $100. Each option has a different entry requirement and certificate outcome. Choose the course that suits your needs below.

How the full forklift VOC works

1. Provide your current forklift licence. We check your identity and the relevant High Risk Work Licence class before practical participation.
2. Complete your online theory training. Finish this component before attending your practical session.
3. Attend practical on-machine training. Refresh your operating skills and demonstrate safe forklift operation during the competency check.
4. Receive your VOC certificate. This is issued once you successfully complete the course requirements and demonstrate competency.

If you need more practice before demonstrating competency, your trainer will explain the next steps. Attendance alone does not establish competency.

How the online refresher works

Complete the refresher training online without attending a practical session. You do not need to provide evidence of a current High Risk Work Licence to enrol. On successful completion, you receive a certificate of completion for the online course.

This option refreshes knowledge only. If your employer requires a VOC or evidence of practical operating skills, discuss the full VOC option with them before booking.

Forklift safety topics

Refresher learning focuses on safe forklift work, including:

• Recognising workplace hazards and controlling risks.
• Pre-start inspections, identifying faults and reporting problems.
• Understanding load capacity, load centres and forklift stability.
• Safe travel, pedestrian awareness and visibility.
• Safe load handling, stacking, parking and shutdown procedures.

The full VOC also includes in-person practical training and observation of your operating skills. The online-only course does not include these practical activities.

• Access to the internet and a device suitable for completing online training.
• The ability to understand safety information and complete the online course requirements.

Additional requirements for the full VOC

• A current High Risk Work Licence with the appropriate forklift class: LF for a forklift truck, or LO for an order-picking forklift, as applicable to your booking.
• Identification so we can confirm you are the licence holder.
• Online theory training completed before your practical session.
• Enclosed footwear and suitable work clothing for practical activities. Follow any additional instructions in your booking confirmation.

Confirm your practical venue and arrival time before attending. The $100 online refresher is completed online and does not require a visit to either training centre.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the two courses?

The $150 full VOC includes online theory followed by in-person practical training and a competency check. It requires a current forklift High Risk Work Licence and leads to a VOC certificate on successful completion. The $100 online refresher covers online learning only, requires no evidence of a current licence and leads to a certificate of completion.

Can I enrol in the online course without a forklift licence?

Yes. Evidence of a current High Risk Work Licence is not required for the online-only course. Completing it does not give you permission to operate a forklift.

Can I complete the full VOC without a current licence?

No. Our full VOC requires a current High Risk Work Licence for the relevant forklift class. If your licence has expired or you need your first forklift licence, contact our team to discuss the appropriate pathway.

Will I receive a Statement of Attainment?

No. These are non-accredited refresher options. The full VOC provides a VOC certificate, and the online-only course provides a certificate of completion. Neither option awards a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

How long does the training take?

Contact our team to confirm the online requirements and, for the full VOC, the practical session timetable before booking.

Will my employer accept the certificate?

Check with your employer or worksite before booking. If they require practical verification, the online-only completion certificate will not provide that evidence. Confirm that the course and equipment being assessed meet their requirements.
